Considered by many to be the best diver of all time, Potter won 28 national diving championships and was a member of U.S. Olympic teams in 1968, 1972 and 1976. Potter won bronze medal in Olympics in 3-meter springboard in '76. She was a member of 1975 Pan American Team and 1970 U.S. Team in World University Games, World Diver of the Year in springboard in 1970, 1971 and 1972, 11-time All-American, and was inducted in 1987 to International Swimming & Diving Hall of Fame.
