Angelo won soccer letters in 1976, 1977 and 1978 and helped lead the Hoosiers into NCAA championship game in both 1976 and 1978. He was first team All-American in both 1977 and 1978, All-Midwest 1976, 1977 and 1978. Angelo won the Hermann Award, symbolizing top player in the country in 1978. He is one of IU's all-time leading scorers and a member of the U.S. Olympic team in 1980 and 1984. He was also a member of National Team from 1979 to 1985 and played professionally for New York Cosmos and L.A. Aztecs.
