BIOGRAPHY
Appointed to federal positions by Presidents Johnson, Carter and Clinton, Alice Mitchell Rivlin, raised in Bloomington, is an American economist and expert on the federal budget. A Brookings Institution and MacArthur Fellow, Rivlin received the Daniel Patrick Moynihan Prize from the American Academy of Social and Political Science, the Barnard College Medal of Distinction, is a fellow of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences and has received honorary degrees from Harvard, Yale, the University of Maryland, the University of Michigan.
