SPSS Patches

SPSS software bugs are fixed by patches (small pieces of software that repair larger pieces of software). These patches are released from time to time by SPSS Corporation.

Applying a patch causes the version number to change, so a patch acts as an upgrade.

Installing a patch is easy:

  1. Log onto your computer with administrator privileges.
  2. Download the specific patch you want below.
  3. Save the file to a temporary directory (c:\temp, c:\scratch, or similar).
  4. Run the patch by either:
    • Running Windows Explorer, navigating to the directory, and double-clicking on the patch file, Windows Vista users should right-click the file and choose “Run as administrator”, or
    • Choosing Start -> Run, then typing c:\temp\patchfile.exe, replacing patchfile with the name of the file.
  5. Follow the on-screen directions.

To determine what version of SPSS you have, do the following:

  1. Run SPSS.
  2. Choose Help -> About
  3. Your version number will be displayed.

The version number is also printed on the SPSS ELA CD.

 

SPSS Statistics for Windows 17.0.3 Patch

This patch will upgrade your existing SPSS Statistics 17.0.2 for Windows to version 17.0.3.

This patch will upgrade your existing SPSS Statistics 17.0 for Windows to version 17.0.2. PASW Statistics 17.0.2 is an incremental release. This patch incorporates any previously released hotfixes for SPSS Statistics 17.0.

This patch will upgrade your existing SPSS Statistics 17.0 for Macintosh to version 17.0.2. PASW Statistics 17.0.2 is an incremental release. This patch incorporates any previously released hotfixes for SPSS Statistics 17.0.

SPSS for Windows 16.0.2 Patch

This patch upgrades the exsiting SPSS 16.0.1 for Windows to version 16.0.2. It is required that all users of SPSS 16.0 update their installation to version 16.0.1 and then apply the 16.0.2 patch. SPSS for Mac OS X 16.0.2 Patch

This patch upgrades the exsiting SPSS 16.0.1 for Macintosh to version 16.0.2. It is required that all users of SPSS 16.0 update their installation to version 16.0.1 and then apply the 16.0.2 patch.
