The Basics
Update Your Contact Information
Keep in touch with SPEA. We want to share campus news, invite
you to
SPEA events worldwide, and inform you of great opportunities in
your
area. Update information by clicking
here.
Post A Job Opening
Alumni are our greatest resource for current job openings. You
can send
job announcements to
speacare@indiana.edu.
Please include your contact information. You can also recruit
SPEA students.
Send News and Updates
SPEA is always interested in hearing about the lives and careers
of
alumni. If you have professional or personal stories you would
like
to share, we want to know. There are always opportunities to
feature
alumni in publications, on the Web site, and so forth. Photos
welcome!

Here’s How You Can Help!
create a customized alumni profile that lets us know exactly where you are and what you
are interested in doing to help current and prospecctive SPEA students.
Become a Mentor to a SPEA Student
The mentor program is a great way for alumni and undergraduate as well as graduate students to connect with professionals who have similar academic backgrounds, career goals, and interests. As a mentor, you can choose just how much or how little you wish to be contacted per month by SPEA students or fellow alumni, how you prefer to be contacted and any other type of activities with which you would like to be involved.
Sponsor or Attend a SPEA Alumni Event
We welcome your attendance at SPEA alumni events around the globe. If we have not made it to your corner yet, talk to us about planning an event with alumni in your area. Events can be networking opportunities, community service activities, family adventures—the possibilities are endless. Send your ideas to the Assistant Director of Alumni Relations Bethan Roberts at
speamag@indiana.edu.
Career Panels and Networking Events
Sign up to participate in class lectures, panel discussions or networking events with fellow alumni and students. Sharing your career experiences with a group of SPEA students will inspire them to follow in your worthy footsteps and illustrate how your SPEA education helped you achieve success.
Become an Internship Sponsor
Internships provide students with experiential education and training, which is a positive way that your organization/company can influence the next generation of professionals. By providing meaningful, degree-related, full or part-time work assignments and coordinated monitoring, you can make a powerful impact by influencing future public, nonprofit, and environmental professionals.
Career/Job Fairs and Recruiting
Your organization/company can participate in job fairs sponsored by our office by emailing Amanda Shettlesworth at
speacare@indiana.edu. Job fairs and recruiting provide an opportunity for both graduate and undergraduate students to meet with a variety of employers in order to discuss current and anticipated internship and employment opportunities.
Mock Interviews, Résumé Critiques
This is your opportunity to provide students with feedback and suggestions relating to interviewing skills and résumés critiques that you wish you had known! Sign up by visiting www.speacareers.com to offer your suggestions on information they should provide and questions to ask a potential employer. As a bonus, you and your organization will have the chance to take a sneak peak at some of this year’s top SPEA graduates.
