Summer Archaeological Program

NOTE: THIS PROGRAM WILL RETURN IN SUMMER 2008

This is a three week archaeological fieldschool in which students excavate an important "border town" from the biblical age. Located 15 miles from Jerusalem, this excavation has so far uncovered the remains of gates, a secret passage, underground reservoirs, tombs, houses, public buildings, fortifications, and ceramics.

No prior experience in archaeology is required—this program is for students who want to learn about archaeology and Israel.

For details about this program, see the information on Israel at the IU Office of Overseas Study.
