IU Delegation to South Korea and China

During a weeklong trip to South Korea and China, the IU delegation, led by President Michael A. McRobbie, established new partnership agreements with several premier research universities, strengthened ties with IU alumni and friends, and participated in a major conference on globalization in higher education, among other activities. IU's newly formed agreements have great potential to expand research and educational partnerships in a wide range of academic disciplines—from business, informatics and environmental affairs to public health, law, economics and music. - More than 1,200 of the university's 6,000 international students come from Korea each year
- The Korea Alumni Club in Seoul has more than 1,000 members, making it one of the largest IU alumni groups in the world
- Last summer, the IU Jacobs School of Music hosted a group of 42 international music students, 40 of whom came from Ewha Womans University in Seoul
