Indiana University

Office of the Vice President

Welcome

Information technology has realized great success and continues to have even greater potential to help Indiana University's students, faculty, and staff achieve and improve the quality of their research, teaching and learning, and service. The Office of the Vice President for Information Technology and University Information Technology Services are partners with the University community for these aims.

We support the scholarly mission of IU. Our Research Technologies Division enables IU researchers to be among the first to carry out new scientific research and creative activity based on IU's advanced information technology facilities, including "Big Red," one of the most powerful supercomputers in the world. Our Learning Technologies division equips faculty and students to use new and advanced technologies to enhance learning and engagement in their academic community. The administrative work of the University is enhanced by well-integrated and reliable information systems that support the entire university. IU's information technology landscape benefits from a highly talented and accomplished IT staff with core competencies in Support, Enterprise Software, Networks, Enterprise Infrastructure, and Information and Infrastructure Assurance.

I encourage all members of the Indiana University who are visiting this site to become acquainted with the people, ideas, and initiatives that frame your information technology environment. You are our most important partners, and as we strive to explore new technologies and balance innovation, with attention to service quality and stewardship, we invite and welcome your engagement and feedback. If you are not a member of the Indiana University community, we also welcome you. I hope you will find something of value and interest in these pages.

Sincerely yours,
