IU’s International Institution-Building and Technical Assistance

Besides teaching and research on development issues, IU faculty, staff, and students engage globally in activities designed to improve the lives of people in specific overseas locales and circumstances. In the years between 2000 to 2012 alone, external technical assistance and institution-building grants for activities abroad totaled over $160 million and represented roughly 30% of all of IU’s external grants for international activities during this period.

OID participates in this work and carries out its mission by engaging in Technical Assistance and Technical Training initiatives.
