Hosted by the IUPUI Community Learning Network, the premier fishing education program will take place at Beech Grove High School, 5530 E. Hornet Ave., in Beech Grove. Classes run from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. both days.

Denny Brauer, 1998 Bassmaster Classic Champion, is one of six top pros who are instructors for this highly-acclaimed accelerated course on bass fishing strategy. Brauer also won the 1987 Bass Anglers Sportsman’s Society (B.A.S.S.) Angler of the Year title and is bass fishing’s all-time leading money-earner, having won more than $1.5 million in competition.

Other instructors are B.A.S.S. founder Ray Scott, and Bassmaster Classic champions Jay Yelas and Mark Davis.

Mainstream techniques such as plastic worms, crankbaits, flipping and pitching and spinnerbaits will be taught. The university also covers lesser-known techniques such as fishing the floating worm, finesse fishing and the use of electronics, along with advanced techniques for catching bass.

Registration fee is $99 per adult. A spouse or a child under 16 can attend for a discount fee of $50 when accompanied by an adult paying the full $99 fee. For registration or additional information, call IUPUI at 317- 278-7600.
