REPRESENTATIVE-AT-LARGE
Anne (McGreer) Haynes
, IU Bloomington

Since joining InULA in 1980, I have served in several capacities, including as Secretary and Representative-at-Large on the Board, chair of several committees, and editor of the InULA Innuendo. Participation in InULA is vital if we are to continue supporting IU librarians and prospective librarians through scholarships, research incentive funds and continuing education opportunities. The revitalization of InULA and the celebration of our 25th anniversary last year demonstrated how important this organization is to its members. I would be honored to serve as Representative-at-Large.

REPRESENTATIVE-AT-LARGE
Suzanne Mudge
, IU Bloomington

I have been a member of InULA since I came to IU in the fall of 1994. I have previously served as Treasurer, Book Sale Co-Chair (two years), and as a member of the Continuing Education Committee. I have also received direct support from the organization in the form of a Research Incentive Fund grant.

I believe InULA plays an important role in the lives of IU librarians and SLIS students through its financial support of continuing education and professional development projects and its promotion of collegial cooperation among librarians. I would welcome the opportunity to continue to support InULA and its mission by serving as a Representative-at Large.

REPRESENTATIVE-AT-LARGE
Andy Spencer
, IU Bloomington

Although I have some 10 years of experence in library work at the staff and student levels (here at IU and also at Kansas University), I am relatively new to the professional librarian level, starting my current job in Nov. 1999 and receiving my MLS in Dec. 1999. I feel that this member-at-large position will allow me to broaden the scope of my professional experience beyond the narrow focus of my current position. Also I feel this would give me an opportunity to meet and interact with a greater number of my fellow Indiana University Librarians. Up to now, I have worked mainly with Librarians in the Bloomington campus Technical Services Dept. and the Digital Libraries Program, this member-at-large position would allow me to become more familiar with the issues and concerns of librarians in other parts of the Indiana University Library system, including especially Librarians from campuses other than Bloomington since I have had up to now no significant interaction with Librarians outside of the Bloomington campus.

REPRESENTATIVE-AT-LARGE
Saundra Taylor
, IU Bloomington

Over the years that I have been in the IU Libraries I have been most impressed with the activities of InULA in promoting excellence in library service, particularly through financial support of individual research and professional development projects. I feel InULA has a great deal to offer to all IU library personnel both personally through social activities and camaraderie and professionally through educational programs and the scholarship and research incentive grants. I would like to have an active part of these activities and to work on ways to make InULA even more successful through serving as a member-at-large on the Executive Board.

TREASURER
Wendell Johnting
IU Law Library, IUPUI

In my statement for candidate as Treasurer of InULA last year, I stated that I would seek to disburse funds in a timely fashion, as well as being a good steward of incoming funds. Since my election as InULA Treasurer last summer, I believe I have accomplished both of these tasks well. I would like to continue to serve in the capacity of your Treasurer, since I am certain there will be even more dynamic developments with our organization in the year to come. Thank you.

TREASURER
Celestina Wroth
, IU Bloomington

I have been a member of InULA since I started graduate school in 1993, and I feel that it has played a significant role in my professional development and--equally important--in my "job satisfaction". InULA is my idea of what a professional association should be: it is supportive and effective, makes real contributions to the profession, and has fun doing it. It's a serious organization that doesn't take itself overly seriously. (I promise I will take my responsibilities seriously, if elected as treasurer.)

SECRETARY
Jo Burgess
, IU Bloomington

As a three-time recipient of InULA research incentive fund grants, it's time that I gave something back to the organization that has been so generous in its support. I would be happy to serve as secretary and work with the other officers and the membership to ensure that the goals of the organization are met.

SECRETARY
Marie Wright
, IUPUI University Library

I am presently a member of the InULA Social and Program Committee.I served as a Representative-at-large, 1988-89 and 1989-90. I would be honored to serve as secretary of InULA. I see this office as a way to work with and serve all my colleagues in the Indiana University Libraries.

VICE-PRESIDENT/PRESIDENT ELECT
Mahnaz Moshfegh
, IU Law Library, IUPUI

EDUCATION: Ph.D. & M.L.S. , Indiana University, Bloomington

In my role as the Head of Acquisitions/Serials Department, I direct the Acquisition of new materials and am responsible for the management of serials records for IU School of Law Library at Indianapolis. Prior to joining the Law Library faculty in 1989. I held a number of library positions at the IU Libraries in Bloomington campus, including six years at the Serials Department of the Main Library. Active at the university, regional and national levels, I have served at Indiana Library Faculty Council Research at different level of capacity, such as chair of the ILFC Research Committee. Since my membership with InULA in1989, I have been trying to be instrumental and pay my dues to my colleagues and the Association by serving as a chair, co-chair or a member at such committees as Education Committee, Revitalization Ad Hoc committee, and Nomination Committee. I am also very much involved in community services. I teachPersian (Farsi) to Iranian Children on Saturdays. I am active at the state, regional, and national level. Currently I am the Chair of the ILF Women's Division, and the co-chair of ALA/ALCTS Scholarly Communications. My strongest asset is that I always stay in the course and don't give up. If I were given the privilege of serving you, I would strive for excellence.

VICE-PRESIDENT/PRESIDENT ELECT
Ralph Papakhian
, IUB Music Library

Librarians at Indiana University need InULA now more than ever. Librarianship is being challenged by the introduction of information science and technology into every existing academic discipline as well as by the creation of new fields such as informatics, information management, and so forth. Yet none of these intrusions maintain the traditional commitments of academic librarianship as we know it: building collections, providing access to materials and information, and defending intellectual freedom. These are commitments to education, scholarship, democracy, and posterity. InULA is the only organization whose sole purpose is to "promote excellence in library service and to provide opportunities for continuing education and professional growth" for librarians. This is an honorable purpose and should continue to be the focus of the Association.
