Committee Reports
INULA Scholarships and Grants Committee
Annual Report for 2005/2006
Members of the Scholarships and Grants Committee for 2005/2006 were De Loice Holliday, Mahnaz Moshfegh, Carol Rusinek, John Stachacz, Sylvia Turchyn, and Elizabeth Johnson, Chair.
The committee received one application for the Professional Development Grants and recommended that proposal be funded.
There were three deadlines during the year for Research Incentive Funds. During the year we received seven applications: four during the first cycle, one during the second cycle, and two during the third cycle. Our committee recommended funding all seven applications either partially or fully.
There were 20 applications for Nilson Scholarships this year. We recommended three to be recipients.
Based on experience this year, the Committee recommends that the InULA Board budget more money for Research Incentive Funds and less for Professional Development Grants. The RIF applications that were received were excellent and more of them could have been fully funded instead of partially funded had the budget been larger for RIF.
