Report:
The Nominations Subcommittee included Jenn Riley from IUB Digital Library
Program, Stephanie Marshall from IUB Law Library, and Mahnaz Moshfegh, Ruth
Lilly Law Library, Indianapolis. Mahnaz was the chair. The Subcommittee
drafted the following letter inviting InULA members to serve as Board members
for this year's election. The invitation was sent for the first time electronically
via e-mail. The invitation was sent several times. Had the Subcommittee
a clear cut off date, we would not have stopped soliciting the members too
early. In the first round, the Subcommittee submitted the following
candidates to Mrs. Haynes, the InULA President, who in turn publicized the list
to the entire membership. Unfortunately some of the candidates had not been solicited
prior to announcing their name in the slate. They had not agreed to serve
and their names should have not been entered the nomination pool.
Therefore a revised slate was submitted to President Anne.
With regard to using e-mail, we found that utilizing electronic messaging was a
good experience.
