2014 Lotus World Music and Arts Festival

The 21st Lotus World Music & Arts Festival took place on September 19th to 20th of 2014. The festival included twenty bands performed live in both ticketed and public events, as well as a variety of non-musical performers. The IAUNRC was proud to sponsor Arga Bileg (Mongolia) and to co-sponsor Erkan Oğur’s Telvin Trio (Turkey) and Tsuumi Sound System (Finland).

Our aim is to explore the political, military, cultural, and religious tensions that defined the Ottoman-Safavid relationship from ca. 1500 onward.
