Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in

Folklore

PhD requires a minimum of 90 graduate credit hours. A maximum of 30 credit hours of MA work may count towards the PhD. A minor is required. Reading proficiency in two foreign languages, one in-depth foreign language, or one foreign language and one approved research skill is required. It is possible to obtain an Ethnomusicology minor within the department and/or to take Ethnomusicology classes towards track completion.

*Must be chosen from the following list: E522 Study of Ethnomusicology, E529 Musical Cultures as Systems of Meaning, or E714 Paradigms of Ethnomusicology
