Illinois/Indiana Programs

With Title VI funding from the U.S. Department of Education, the Illinois/Indiana (IL/IN) East Asia National Resource Center Consortium sponsors a wide range of academic programs. These programs further develop our commitments to robust undergraduate and graduate training, critical research, and outreach to the business and professional communities.

Science and Technology in the Pacific Century (STIP)

This program brings East Asianist faculty and experts in East Asian science and technology together to explore East Asia’s science and technology frontier as well as its impact on East Asian society and U.S. science, technology, and business. It draws on Indiana’s leadership in information technology, biotech, advanced networking, and cyber security and Illinois’s strengths in agriculture and engineering to develop a series of public lectures, faculty and graduate student study groups, courses, and a conference.
