2009 Study Tour to China
Curriculum Project Proposal
Bring Your Curriculum and Outreach Ideas to Bloomington
(Some comments on the outreach component of our tour to China from John Frank.)
Colleagues,
Once again, we teachers anticipate a summer vacation filled with projects, study, travel, family, and renewal. Our EASC Study Tour to China will undoubtedly make this summer one to remember for its unique experiences and irreplaceable memories. How do we share these experiences with our students, schools, and communities? My role as “ Curriculum Consultant ” is to assist your sharing of our Chinese experiences with “the folks back home.” I am certain that you, like I, consider this the most important outcome of our time spent in China.
When we gather at Indiana University for the orientation weekend May 2-3, please arrive with a written one to two paragraph statement of your professional goals for the study tour. The statement should answer these questions: “What professional goals do I have for the trip to China this June and July? What effects will the tour have upon my classroom, my school, and my community?” I will examine your professional goal statements after we arrive at the orientation and consider how I might assist with the implementation of your goals. Also, during our May 2 evening session, I will discuss curriculum development guidelines for future Chicago, China, and Bloomington meetings.
If you have further questions, please contact me at jfrank21@hotmail.com
See you in Bloomington!

Dear Tour Participants,
It was a real pleasure to meet all of you at the Bloomington orientation. I look forward to traveling with you and assisting with your curriculum projects. At orientation I mentioned that I would send along the lesson template for our Chicago orientation. As I stated at orientation, please let me know if I can assist in any way with your study tour efforts and preparations.
