- Program Abstract: "[The story is about] how the heroic Benkei managed by his quick with (rather than main force) to obtain passage through the barrier of Ataka for his master, Yoshitsune, and a small band of followers. He pretends that they are priests soliciting funds for the rebuilding of the Todaiji temple in Nara; and when the barrier-keeper Togashi questions Benkei about the supposed subscription of funds, he read from a blank scroll the details of the contributions.
