IU to host STEM Summer Science Camp for middle school students

July 8-20, 2012
Indiana University is proud to host Adventures in Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM)–a two-week, academic, residential camp that provides activities and field experiences for students who will be entering 6th, 7th, or 8th grade in the fall of 2012. Student applications are due April 6, 2012. Instructors, counselors, and nurse are needed to assist with the camp. Visit the summer science camp site for information and applications.

Theatrical production, concert among week of activities marking Martin Luther King's legacy
IU Vice President Edwin Marshall calls upon the IU community to encourage student participation, consider hosting an event, or sponsor a movie night in honor of the life and legacy of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. during Bloomington's annual MLK Day celebration in January 2012. The campus-wide programming celebrates the life of Dr. King and provides opportunities for students, faculty, and staff to rally together in demonstration of the ideals and aspirations of Dr. King.

WFHB Community Radio seeks volunteers to help produce programs exploring the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Projects will occur Jan. 2-17. Needed volunteers include chaperones for kids acting as reporters on location, stagehand for city celebration live broadcast, and collectors of oral histories from local African American elders. Kids 8 years and older may participate as a "reporter for a day." All training provided. Contact Chad Carrothers at manager@wfhb.org.
