  • IU Southeast Academy for Leadership and Diversity

Goals: To bring together a group of academic administrators and scholars (especially international scholars and students) from all Indiana University campuses who are interested in the best practices of curriculum transformation through diversity and internationalization. To meet with others in local institutions and communities committed to achieving excellence through diversity and global leadership. To prepare for a nationally and internationally marketed diversity and leadership conference during the year of 2011.

Outcomes: The workshop will contribute to national and international conversations on diversity. This conference will also serve as a business meeting in preparation for a large international conference on diversity leadership planned for the year of 2011. Participants at the April 2010 conference will develop a professional network supported through the efforts of the Academy and will leave the conference with activities to be implemented in their classrooms and departments.

Relevance: The IU Southeast Academy for Leadership and Diversity is the largest project supported by the IU PresidentŐs University Diversity Initiative. By playing a local and international leadership role, this initiative is conducive to the mission of IU campuses and their partners.

Questions regarding the organization of the workshop may be addressed to Dr. Allison Riggle at ariggle@ius.edu or Dr. Jamie Kauffman at jkauffm@ius.edu.
