Advantages of Direct AdmissionIf you have a strong interest in a major in Arts and Sciences and an excellent high school record, the Direct Admit Program for the College of Arts and Sciences may be right for you. Most incoming freshmen at IU enroll in and receive academic advising from the University Division, and are later certified into the College if they choose an Arts and Sciences major. Exploratory students in the Hutton Honors College who select a major in the College of Arts and Sciences must also be certified. The Direct Admit Program allows you to bypass this certification step. The College finds that students who connect directly with a major when they begin their studies at IU tend to have great success during and after college. Here are some more advantages:
