Peer Support Service

The Asian Culture Center offers a FREE English tutoring and mentoring service to IU students led by peer mentors. These student peer mentors will provide advice, support, attention, and kindness to students who would like some guidance with cultural adjustment, campus life, and schoolwork. These one on one meetings may also be an opportunity to practice conversational English and meet new friends. Walk-ins are welcome. No appointments needed.

Monday: 9:00am-8:00pm
Tuesday: 9:00am-2:00pm, 3:00pm-6:00pm (no tutor 10-10:30 am from Oct. 20 onwards)
Wednesday: 9:00am-8:00pm
Thursday: 10:30am-1:00pm, 2pm-8 pm
Friday: 11:00am-5:00pm

Science and Anatomy Tutoring
Date: Sundays and Mondays, 4:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m.
This free service is offered by the Academic Support Center. Tutors will be available for help with Chemistry C117, C127, C341 (organic chemistry), and Anatomy A215. You can check the Academic Support Center website at for the latest information and updates on possible time/subject changes.

Asian Cultures Around Campus featuring Henna 101
Date: Mondays, 5:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m.
Come to the ACC to learn the Indian art of henna designs. You will have hands on experience, as well as learn basic techniques and designs. Please feel free to bring your friends. If you are bringing a group of more than 6, please RSVP in advance.

Asian Games: Mah-Jong and Go
Date: Fridays, 2:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m.
Mah-Jong is a game of skill coupled with wit and fortune. It originated in China and dates far back into ancient times. Beginners are welcome. Go (WeiQi in Chinese, Baduk in Korean) Every Friday from 4- 7 pm. Go is the oldest game of strategy still played in its original form. The rules are simple, but the strategy is fantastically complex (computers can't come close to beating humans). Come to play, learn, or even teach this ageless game.

Asian Cultures Around Campus featuring Free Calligraphy Lessons
Date: Fridays, 5:00 - 6:30 p.m.
Learn and practice the art of East Asian Calligraphy with IU Chinese Calligraphy Club mentor. Informal class meets every Friday to learn and practice how to write in the ancient script. Beginners are welcome. Lessons are free and open to the public. For more information, please contact

Note About Parking

Parking with permits is available at Walnut Grove and 11th Street parking lots at the back of the Geological Science Building (located at 1001 E. 10th street). Parking with fees is also available at the Indiana Memorial Union parking lot. Please allow 3- 5 minutes walk from these parking areas to ACC. There is also available free parking on city streets after 5:00 p.m.
