Position Descriptions: A Tool with Many Uses
A current and accurate position description is a valuable resource for supervisors, employees and departments. Position descriptions are used in many areas of Human Resources, such as compensation and classification, employee relations, performance management, and recruiting and strategic planning. This workshop is geared toward employees who develop and utilize position descriptions as a management tool.
In this workshop, Scott Shimoda, compensation consultant from University Human Resources will:
- Explain the purpose of a position description
- Review the role of supervisors in regards to creating and maintaining position descriptions
- Instruct how to prepare and review position descriptions
- Review University position description guidelines and submission process
- Help managers utilize position descriptions to accomplish University goals and objectives
