A. Temporary work assignments and pay

When a position is vacated for the regular incumbent's vacation and the work of the position is performed by one or more other employees of the working unit, there shall be no adjustment of pay during such temporary incumbency.

When the work of a position, vacated for reasons other than annual vacation, is assigned and performed in full and solely by one employee for more than 40 hours in any one pay period, and the pay grade of such position is higher than the employee's normal position, a pay adjustment for the hours worked in the higher classification shall be made.

The HRMS document should be initiated by the department identifying the temporary rate of pay.
