Subject: Premier Healthcare and the PPO Provider Network

Premier Healthcare (formerly IMA) made a decision to cease participation in Anthem's PPO provider network effective October 31, 2012. Premier Healthcare would like a considerable increase in payments for their participation in this PPO network.

As of today, Premier has not rejoined the Anthem PPO network. This means individuals covered by the IU PPO $400 Deductible, IU PPO $900 Deductible, and IU HDHP & HSA medical plans will need to consider other providers for the highest level of in-network benefits. Indiana University remains hopeful that Premier Healthcare will renew its contract with the Anthem PPO network and accept the same fee schedule as other physicians in Indiana, including physicians at the IU School of Medicine and IU Health.
