Medco/Express Scripts Prescription Benefit Manager
On this page: Retail Pharmacies | Speciality Medications | Cost | Refills and New Rx Orders | Things You Can Do
Express Scripts and Medco have come together as one company. The combined company is in the process of changing the name on all its communications to Express Scripts. Until the renaming process is complete, you'll sometimes see the Express Scripts name in pharmacy communications and on the Web.
Retail Pharmacies
Medco/Express Scripts pharmacy network includes most retail chain pharmacies, such as CVS, Walmart, Target, and most supermarket pharmacy chains. Some independent pharmacies are included also. Walgreens will not be a network pharmacy beginning January 1, 2013.
Specialty Medications
Medco/Express Scripts has a separate arrangement for specialty medications through Accredo. (Specialty medications are drugs that are used to treat complex conditions, such as cancer, growth hormone deficiency, hemophilia, hepatitis C, immune deficiency, multiple sclerosis, and rheumatoid arthritis.)
