Wellness and Lifestyle Resources
There are many wellness and lifestyle tools available through IU’s health care partners, Wellpoint (Anthem) and Clarian Healthy Results. These programs can be used to learn about, monitor and improve employees’ health.
MyAnthem Suite of Tools
Employees may register for an account by going to www.anthem.com and click on the “register” button under Register Now. By registering for MyAnthem, employees have access to a suite of useful tools including:
- An online nutrition assessment evaluates nutrition knowledge and provides instruction about how to eat healthier.
- Health Trackers where employees can record and track weight, blood glucose, cholesterol, etc., in one central place.
- Lifetime Exercise Adherence Program (LEAP), designed by an Olympic coach to help measure and manage fitness.
- MyHealth Record tracks all recent medical visits and current prescriptions. The record can be printed out and presented to new providers unfamiliar with one’s medical history. Once a record is set up, Anthem will automatically update as claims are processed.
- Condition Centers contain information about common conditions and how to treat them.
- Care Comparison gives the costs of common procedures at area hospitals.
- Symptom checker can help employees understand medical symptoms and helps them make an informed decision about their care.
HealthMedia® Succeed™ Health Risk Assessment
The health risk assessment offered through Clarian Healthy Results takes the guesswork out of finding credible, pertinent health information on the Internet and elsewhere. After completing a 20-25 minute confidential health history and questionnaire, participants receive a report with results of their health status and personalized feedback. The assessment is offered to employees and covered spouses annually so their health status can be monitored year to year.
Visit www.indiana.edu/~uhrs/benefits/health_risk.html for step-by-step instructions on how to complete the health risk assessment.
After completing the HealthMedia Succeed Health Risk Assessment, participants have access to personalized online health programs about the topics listed in Web Wise below.

IU Tobacco-free Wellness Program
As an incentive for the non-use of tobacco and to promote a healthy life, the University provides the IU Tobacco-free Wellness Program which includes two features.
- The Tobacco Cessation Plan is fully paid by the University. This plan covers the cost of employees’ participation in Free & Clear’s Quit for Life™ program.
- $10 per month for those employees who sign an affidavit indicating their non-use of tobacco. Employees who are not tobacco-free at the time of signing their affidavit are eligible for this plan after notifying the University that they have completed the Quit for Life program.
For details, see the Open Enrollment packet and visit www.indiana.edu/~uhrs/benefits/index.html.
IU Tax Saver Benefit (TSB) Plan
The IU TSB plan is designed to save tax dollars when a participant pays for IRS-eligible expenses. When salary contributions are made into one or both TSB expense reimbursement accounts (health care and dependent care), the contributions are not subject to federal, state, local, or FICA taxes. This results in substantial savings to the employee. Employees enrolled in the HDHP PPO and Medical Savings Plan should note that the IRS limits claims that can be paid from the TSB account.
