Revised Form I-9

The U. S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) has issued a revised Form I-9 which all departments should now be using. The form is available from either of these two Web sites:

Departments should discard any printed quantities of the previous I-9, and remove all Web versions of the form, replacing it with a link to either Web site shown above.

The primary change to the form is the removal of five documents used in establishing identity and employment eligibility. One document has been added: the updated Employment Authorization Document (Form I-766).

IU Notify

Indiana University strives to provide the safest environment possible for students, employees, and visitors on all campuses. Because timely, reliable communications are critical in emergency situations, the university must have current contact information for all students, employees, and long-term visitors. It is therefore very important to periodically review and update university and personal contact information.

Information can be reviewed and updated in OneStart at www.onestart.iu.edu. Select the Notifications tab at the top, then select the IU Notify bar on the left. Current emergency information will be displayed. To update information, click on either the “update phone numbers” or “update non-IU email” buttons below the current information.

New Position Description Document for Staff Positions

A university-wide Position Description document for all Staff positions was recently rolled out. This document replaces all position description forms previously in use (PAQ, PIQ, etc.). It will be used university-wide to document the responsibilities, duties, and minimum qualifications for all new positions and position updates. The updated document is at www.indiana.edu/~uhrs/pubs/forms/forms-list.htm. It consists of the following components: reporting relationship, summary of primary function and role, list and description of primary duties and responsibilities, supervision of personnel, minimum qualifications, and required licenses or certifications. Managers should provide each Staff employee with a copy of his/her position description.
