Benefits Change Connection
Change in Non-IU Coverage
The following circumstances will allow you to make changes to your benefit plans outside of Open Enrollment:
- You involuntary lose outside coverage
- Your spouse or child begins, loses, or changes employment or benefits at IU or elsewhere
- The premium cost of your spouse's or child's coverage significantly increases (generally 10% or more)
- Your spouse or child has an Open Enrollment opportunity elsewhere
- Changes must be consistent with the other employer's coverage change
To make changes to any of the plans listed immediately below, you will need to
request a Family Status Change through the Employee Center on OneStart and
complete online enrollment of your changes once your request is approved by HR. You must make the change within 30 days.
