Digitizing video for the web and for the screen

Video can be digitized and prepared for cross-platform use in presentations, the web, CD-ROMs, and DVDs.

Digital video requires powerful equipment to produce and to play back efficiently. Digital video involves a high investment in preparation time, ample storage space, and can result in relatively poor quality of image and sound, along with problems of delivery over the web (viewers must download plug-ins, have high-speed access, etc.). Consequently, other methods of conveying course-related information may be more efficient and effective. The staff of TLTC encourages instructors to consult with them before beginning a digital video project.
