A. James Barnes, IUB, participated on a panel entitled “The Environment in Indiana” at the Fourteenth Annual Legislative Conference co-hosted by Bingham McHale LLP and Indiana Legislative Insight on December 8 in Indianapolis.. Other panelists included Tom Easterly, Director of the Indiana Department of Environmental Management, and Sen. Tim Lanane, Democratic Leader Pro Tempore.

John Krauss, IUPUI, has been appointed to a national panel of External Mediators for the US Transportation Security Administration (TSA), part of the US Department of Homeland Security. John has also has been appointed as a member of the Board of Advisors of the Center for Intellectual Property Law and Innovation of the Indiana University School of Law – Indianapolis.

Nan Stager, IUB, and John Krauss, IUPUI, organized and co-presented a three-hour advanced mediation training for state agency attorneys and administrative law judges in Indianapolis on November 30. The training was sponsored by the Environmental Law Section of the Indiana State Bar Association for state government employees who serve as mediators for the state's Shared Neutrals Program. Shared Neutrals is a program where state government employees who are certified mediators provide mediation services to each other's agencies for no charge.
