Burney Fischer, IUB, and SPEA graduate student Sarah Mincey, IUB, have just been awarded a grant ($4,410) from the Indiana Department of Resources Community and Urban Forestry Program's Putting Trees To Work RFP to revise and print the Indiana University's Woodland Campus Brochure during 2008.

Chris Craft, IUB, is working with the US Army Corps of Engineers on the Mid-Chesapeake Bay Island Ecosystem Restoration study. The study is evaluating the feasibility and potential environmental impacts and benefits of restoring remote island habitat in the mid-Bay using material dredged from Baltimore Harbor. The $1.2 billion project will create more than 1,200 acres of wetland habitat and 800 acres of uplands, preserve 1,000 acres of existing island habitat, and protect more than 1,000 acres of seagrass beds in the mid-Bay region.

Maureen Pirog, IUB, was awarded an Honorary Professorship at the Higher School of Economics, Moscow, Russia.
