at the National Association of Schools of Public Affairs and Administration
(NASPAA) annual meeting in Minneapolis on October 2006.
Burney Fischer, IUB, made the closing presentation "Can't
See the Forest For The Trees: Dilemmas for Woodland Owners" at the
Indiana Forestry and Woodland Owners Annual Meeting in Columbus, Ind., on
November 4.
“Indiana Nonprofit Employment” by Kirsten Grønbjerg,
IUB, and Kerry S. Brock (SPEA MPA alumnae) was presented
to the Indianapolis Chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals
on October 18. The presentation was given by Kerry Brock with the assistance
of Andrea Lewis (SPEA MPA student).
Les Lenkowsky, IUB and IUPUI, gave a “Midterm Election
Talk” at Hutton Honors College Community in McNutt on November 6,
and presented “How Sick is America’s Civic Health?” at
the Town and Gown Conversations Series at Ball State University in Muncie
on November 8.
Michael Rushton, IUB, presented "The Creative Class
and Urban Economic Growth Revisited" at the conference Drawing
the Lines: International Perspectives on Urban Renewal through the Arts,
held at Indiana University Northwest in Gary on November 3. Michael was
also an invited panelist at a conference on The Creative Campus,
held at Vanderbilt University on November 9-11. He was part of a working
group on the economic consequences of sustaining, training, and presenting
the arts at universities and colleges.
