Presentations 

Lisa Blomgren Bingham, IUB, presented “Research on Practice: Context Matters” at the International Association for Conflict Management, Montreal, Canada on June 29, 2006. Also, with coauthors Tina Nabatchi (IUB) and Yuseok Moon, Bingham presented “Evaluating Transformative Mediation in Practice” on June 28, 2006 at the International Association for Conflict Management, Montreal, Canada; and with coauthors Lisa Marie Napoli and Rebecca Nesbit (both IUB) presented “Assessing Deliberation: Setting the Agenda, Implementing Policy, and Outcomes” on August 6, 2006 at the National Coalition for Dialogue and Deliberation conference in San Francisco, CA.

Chris Craft, IUB, gave lectures on "The Challenges of Restoring Wetlands in Natural, Agricultural and Urban Landscapes" at Utrecht University (The Netherlands) and the Czech Botanical Institute (Trebon, Czech Republic) during May and June 2006. He also presented a talk entitled "Ecosystem Development of a Newly Emerged Tidal Marsh" at the 6th International Workshop on Nutrient Cycling and Retention in Natural and Constructed Wetlands during his visit to Trebon.

Beth Gazley, IUB, presented a paper entitled "Beyond the Contract: Informal Partnerships as 'Dark Matter' in Privatization Research" at the Academy of Management annual meeting in Atlanta, Georgia on August 16. Her paper was also selected as the Public and Nonprofit Management Division's nominee for the William H. Newman Award, given to the conference's best paper based on a dissertation.

Kirsten Grønbjerg, IUB, presented “Researching Collaborative Structures and/or Their Outcomes: Challenges of Measurement and Methodology” at the annual meetings of the Academy of Management in Atlanta, GA on August 14-16, 2006.

Earl R. Jones, IUN, presented a paper entitled “Critical Environmental Planning Issues for the African American Community through 2050” at the National Conference of The American Planning Association. The paper was invited by the executive committee of the Planning and the Black Community Division of the American Planning Association.

Vicky Meretsky, IUB, made a presentation titled “Population Trends of Indiana Bats: Shedding a little darkness” at the 91st Annual Meeting of the Ecological Association of America in Memphis, TN on August 8.

Tina Nabatchi, with coauthors Lisa Blomgren Bingham and David Good, all IUB, presented “The Determinants of Outcomes in Transformative Mediation” at the International Association for Conflict Management, Montreal, Canada on June 29, 2006.

Rebecca Nesbit and David Reingold, both IUB, presented a paper entitled “Do States’ Civic Education Policies Increase Youth Volunteering?” at the Mid-Continent Regional Science Association 37th Annual Conference/IMPLAN National User's Conference, 6th Biennial Conference on June 8-10, 2006 in Indianapolis, IN.

Flynn Picardal, IUB, presented “Microbial Degradation and Biological Treatment of Chlorinated Organic Pollutants in Wastewaters and Sludges” at the APEC Medium and Small Enterprises Technology Conference and Fair in Qingdao, China, on May 19, 2006.

Todd Royer, IUB, attended the 54th annual meeting of the North American Benthological Society from June 4-9th in Anchorage, AK. He delivered a paper entitled “Nitrate and phosphorus export from agricultural watersheds in the midwestern US: Implications for programs to reduce nutrient loading to the Mississippi River” and was a co-author on four other papers.
