David Reingold, IUB, was appointed to the South Central Community Action Program Board by the Monroe County Commissioners.

Leslie Lenkowski, IUPUI and IUB, coordinated the visit of Mark Bauerlein, research director of the National Endowment for the Arts on April 12-13. Also, on April 29, Professor Lenkowsky will be participating in a panel as part of the O’Bannon Institute for Community Service at Ivy Tech. The topic is: “Take This Job and Love It: Developing Leaders in Non-Profit Organizations.”

A. James Barnes, IUB, was recently appointed by Samuel Bodman, the Secretary of Energy, to the Department of Energy's Environmental Advisory Board. The board provides advice and recommendations on issues relating to the Department of Energy's Environmental Management Program. He also had a telephone interview with Joe Carlson of the Times of NW Indiana concerning possible conflict of interest issues with the local government (nepotism).
