An article written by Sheila Suess Kennedy, IUPUI (with Laura S. Jensen), has won the 2005 Johnson Award for Best Paper in Ethics and Accountability in the Public Sector, given by the Johnson Institute for Responsible Leadership at the University of Pittsburgh. The paper, "Public Ethics, Legal Accountability, and the New Governance," was published as a chapter in George Frederickson and Richard Ghere's Ethics in Public Management (M.E. Sharpe 2005). Sheila’s chapter, "The Poor You Have Always With You: The Problem of the 'Sturdy Beggar'" has been published in Indiana Legal History, edited by David Bodenhamer and Randall Shepard (Ohio University Press 2005).

Les Lenkowsky, IUB and IUPUI, has published “What’s Killing Environmentalism: Moralistic, Overzealous Behavior, in the March 3 “Opinion” column of The Chronicle of Philanthropy. Philip Rutledge (Emeritus IUB, IUPUI, IUN), published “Taking a New Look at Indicators of Racial Progress” in the February 26 edition of The Indianapolis Star, as part of their coverage on Black History Month.
