Lisa Blomgren Bingham, IUB, gave a lecture entitled "Control
over Dispute System Design: The Unresolved Issue for Dispute Resolution"
at Santa Clara University School of Law, Santa Clara, CA on February 15.
Chris Craft, IUB, was a featured speaker at the USEPA Research
Planning Conference on Wetlands and Water Quality Trading held February
14-16 in Chicago. His talk was entitled "The Role of Wetlands in a
Water Quality Trading Program". The conference was attended by about
100 scientists, policymakers, regulators and NGOs.
Beth Gazley, IUB, presented a three-hour workshop on risk
management in volunteer programs at the City Council Chambers, City Hall,
to 40 nonprofit and community members on February 16. The workshop was sponsored
by the Bloomington Volunteer Network.
On February 8th, Sheila Kennedy, IUPUI, delivered a speech
entitled "Checks and Balances? Or 'L'etat, c'est moi'?" at the
Shepard's Center (North United Methodist Church, Indianapolis). It was a
consideration of the current effort to redefine Executive Power and the
challenge to traditional Separation of Powers doctrine.
Flynn Picardal, IUB, participated in a Career Development
Workshop at the Annual Meeting of the American Association for the Advancement
of Science (AAAS) in St. Louis on February 17. He was a speaker in the workshop
entitled, "International Research Opportunities: The Fulbright Network
for Students and Professionals".
