Al Anderson, IUB, with Chinese colleagues Xu Hua, Chu Tianxin, and Xu Xiaohui, have had their research, "Fundamentals for the Effective Management of HIV/AIDS in the Prison Environment," accepted by the Chinese Journal of STD & AIDS Prevention and Control (forthcoming 2005). Otis Grant, IUSB, published "Rational Choice or Wrongful Discrimination? The Law and Economics of Jury Nullification," in the George Mason University Civil Rights Law Journal, 14(2):145–187 (2004). John Krauss, IUPUI, was elected Vice Chair of the Indiana Supreme Court Commission on Continuing Legal Education on January 6. The full story can be accessed at: http://www.in.gov/judiciary/press/2005/0106.html. Les Lenkowsky, IUPUI and IUB, was quoted in a January 1 article in The Age (Australia), "When Giving is for Getting." The article is available at http://www.theage.com.au/news/Business/When-giving-is-for-getting/2005/01/01/1104345035239.html?oneclick=true. Note: this site is free, but does require registration. Lenkowsky was also quoted in the December 31 Wall Street Journal, in an article by Eric Gibson called “Giving Without Taking the Credit.” Clint Oster, IUB, was recently quoted in the San Jose Mercury News (“Delta expected to cut, simplify its ticket prices”), The Chicago Tribune (“Delta to slice fares in big way”), and The Christian Science Monitor (“What do air travelers want? Competition spurs innovation”) on Delta’s fare cuts and the ensuing price competitions in a time of severely reduced air travel. Oster also addressed airline safety on Tucson, AZ station KMSB, indicating that it is presently at a high point: “It’s the periods of rapid growth that put the greatest strain” on safety. John Ryan, IU president emeritus, was featured in the January 10–16 issue of the Indianapolis Business Journal, in its “Where Are They Now?” column. Ryan’s longtime and varied service as a campus and community leader, both at Indiana University, and at SUNY Albany, is highlighted.
