Professor Miller's research interests focus on processes which operate in the fluvial system, with particular emphasis on stream channel development. His most recent research focus is on the effects of long term environmental change on fluvial systems.
His major teaching focus is in statistical analysis. He is co-director of the Interdisciplinary Consortium for Statistical Applications at Indiana University.
