Craig L. Johnson
Associate Professor

Ph.D., State University of New York at Albany, 1993

 

 

Professor Johnson's fields of specialization include financial markets, financial management, public budgeting and public finance. Professor Johnson teaches courses in the area of public finance, financial management and budgeting, infrastructure finance, and financing economic development. His research focuses on the municipal securities market, especially innovative financing structures and economic development and environmental finance. Currently, Professor Johnson is working on a U.S. Department of Labor-sponsored project on economically targeted investments, as well as research on linked-deposit investments and municipal certificates of participation and tax increment and derivative financial instruments.

 

Professor Johnson previously lectured at the State University of New York at Albany, where he received his M.P.A (1987) and Ph.D (1993) in Public Administration, majoring in Public Finance. Professor Johnson received his B.A. from San Jose State University in 1984 and graduated with Highest Distinction and the No. 1 class ranking. Professor Johnson has worked as budget analyst for the New York State Division of the Budget and legislative policy analyst for the New York State Assembly.
