Trajectories: The Past and Future of German Studies Conference will be held on the campus of Indiana University, located in Bloomington, Indiana.

The IU-Bloomington campus is a careful blend of traditional and modern architecture within a park-like environment. Made of locally quarried limestone, the University buildings add beauty and charm to the scenic campus. Bloomington offers the charm of a small town and the sophistication of a cultural capital with international caliber performance in opera, music and theater. Local restaurants include an impressive array of ethnic cuisine, many within comfortable walking distance of campus.

All conference sessions will be held in the Indiana Memorial Union (www.imu.indiana.edu). Most food and social functions will also be centered in the IMU or within a short walking distance. The Indiana Memorial Union is the host hotel of the conference. (see: "Lodging")

Bloomington is always on Eastern Standard Time. At the time of the Conference, Bloomington will be on the same time as New York, New York.

Temperatures in south-central Indiana during March are typically cool. The average high is 49 degrees and the average low is about 30 degrees. We suggest that you bring layered clothing to adjust to seasonal changes in temperatures that can occur during this time of year.
